Preserving History, Inspiring Generations

Welcome to the official home of Bamboo Betty, a beloved Bamboo Bomber of WWII, her history is carefully maintained and flown by Wings of War, a nonprofit museum and charity organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacy of military aircraft.

Known officially as the Cessna T-50, the Bamboo Bomber earned its nickname from its wooden construction and reliable service as a trainer and light transport / cargo aircraft during World War II. Today, this remarkable plane represents a bridge between early aviation innovation and the bravery of the men and women who took to the skies in a time of global conflict.

At Wings of War, we believe that history should not sit silent in hangars or behind glass. Our dedicated volunteers and aviation experts restore and maintain historic warbirds like the Bamboo Bomber to keep them flying and telling their stories where they belong—under open skies. Through public flights, airshow appearances, and educational programs, we bring the sights, sounds, and spirit of these vintage aircraft to life for new generations.

By supporting the Bamboo Bomber and the Wings of War collection, you help ensure that these flying museums continue to honor the legacy of the Greatest Generation, generations to follow and inspire a passion for aviation history in the pilots and historians of tomorrow.

Thank you for joining us on this mission to preserve, educate, and celebrate.
